In April, Football West visited the Esperance Soccer Association (ESA) in what was a mission to introduce and develop the AIA Vitality MiniRoos programs to regional Western Australia. ESA’s president Carmel Creed organised for MiniRoos Development Officer Chris Adams to visit three of the local schools in the Esperance area. During these visits, Chris introduced over 330 children to the AIA Vitality MiniRoos Kick-Off program. For some of these children this was their first time experiencing football!

The children had a great time learning new skills in a fun and safe environment. They also got to learn about how to interact with each other through team based activities. To continue on the MiniRoos program, each school was provided with the resources needed to run these programs throughout the year.

During his time in Regional Western Australia, Chris also ran a Coach Education Workshop. This workshop focused on educating local coaches about how to incorporate fun activities and create a positive environment for children aged 6-9. Over 20 coaches took part in the workshop and are now well equipped to pass on their expertise in the local area.

We would like to thank Esperance Soccer Association who are now in the process of applying to become a Kick-Off site.
