Perth Glory’s Westfield W-League players Lexi Moreno and Abbie Meakins were on hand to offer advice as the Girls Only ALDI MiniRoos Kick-Off program at Perth Soccer Club finished its first season.

Moreno and Meakins helped run the activities and signed Football West giveaways.

Football West development Officer Annie Leyland said the Girls Only Kick-Off program was a great way for the kids to interact with each other, learn new skills and enjoy themselves.

“The interest in the program is growing rapidly,” she said.

“The club hopes to further grow participation numbers of female footballers and with the resources provided by ALDI and the support from Football West, the ALDI MiniRoos Girls Only Kick-Off is the pathway to achieve this goal.”

Perth SC player and coach Sarah Ranieri was pleased to coach the young girls and looks forward to further developing the program.

“It was a pleasure coaching the ALDI Miniroos girls at Perth Soccer Club for the first eight-week program of its kind in the metropolitan area,” she said.

“It was amazing to see great enthusiasm, participation, and dedication from all the girls in the program. Each and every one of them have developed new skills and have created new friendships.”

The Girls Only program will commence again for new and existing participants on Sunday, July 30.
